Here’s a quick shot of something I’ve been working on:

a full chip synth – similar to Pokey or SID.

I basically needed some old school effects for the vector stuff I’m working on and created this little realtime beasty.

You start with a basic waveform and mangle it, clip it, smooth is to form your basic tone.

You then have a pitch graph – where you can draw how the tone sounds in pitch. Further down is the chip fx where you can make a sound do wild things (think pac man dying, or asteroids exploding, mario jumping, etc)

Last you have the envelope shaper (both adssr and direct drawing) to make it sound just right.

next step is to create a sound bank.

    should perform cross platform too

Quick demo of the sound bank using 4 different chip sounds

and a pic of the new sound back (50 sounds) with user defined colors

    Checking out final version:

On the left is the sound bank with 8 sounds and the right are the settings.

You can see there are now 2 sounds per voice (if wanted), mixing and portamento. plus loading and saving of soundbanks

The above sounds (soundcloud) correspond to the image and the resulting sound bank is 1k

The code itself is not too difficult, but…

You will need the gui code and need to add some code to the std module to support new colors.

I should add that only the designer code is really useful as there is no stand-alone player.

Well, if you feel like putting it on GitHub I will have a play, thanks.
