Hi!
Is there already a good IDE out there? Someone who tried to add visual code maybe? What options are on the table?
Thanks!
September 1, 2017 at 1:33 pm #10189The standard Ted2Go IDE is really good much better than the old Monk IDE from Monkey1. I was first annoyed that Jungle IDE didn’t follow into Monkey2 (I bought the lifetime license) but really Ted2Go covers most everything I used. Download Monkey2 and give it a spin!
September 1, 2017 at 1:44 pm #10190Notice that Ted2 and Ted2Go are different things.
Make sure you use Ted2GoNewer versions of Ted2Go can be compiled from: https://github.com/engor/Ted2Go
September 1, 2017 at 4:47 pm #10191Thank you! Will look at it. Does it have intellisense stuff?
September 1, 2017 at 5:07 pm #10192Yes, it have intellisense, except of local variables.
September 1, 2017 at 5:17 pm #10193Is it intended that the fonts are blurry? Have a Macbook Air with Windows 10 installed.
September 1, 2017 at 5:17 pm #10194Did a search, looks exactly like here: http://monkeycoder.co.nz/forums/topic/ted-blurried-on-my-machine/
September 1, 2017 at 7:04 pm #10195In both cases (yours and the linked one) it’s Windows running on a Macbook. Is it a retina screen macbook? If yes, seems like windows doesn’t handle the hi dpi scaling well.
Have you tried on MacOS, since you’re on a Mac? Looks razor sharp here, the only minor problem is that sometimes when I uninstall and reinstall it the fonts look absolutely tiny, and you have to hit Window/Zoom In several times to go back to normal. Another benefit is that Monkey2 seems to compile much faster on MacOS, at least for me.
More info about other IDE options here:
http://monkeycoder.co.nz/forums/topic/monkey2-3rd-party-ide/September 1, 2017 at 7:12 pm #10196No it’s not a retina screen. Actually the windows bar is crisp sharp, everything is sharp but not the views and the menu bar. Odd. Zoom is set to 100%.
September 2, 2017 at 3:10 pm #10214Maybe try out the different themes (window->themes). Going through them, I find a couple blurry, just assumed it is my bad eyes trying to focus on the different color combinations. Maybe it is just certain fonts can’t scale properly at certain resolutions.
