To coincide with the #KIWIJAM16 a local 48 hour game maker event I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a Monkey2 event being run along side?

I think rules should be same, you can work on your own project or make a game with the fruits of your efforts over said time period judged by your peers.

I would love to, but I never find enough time for 24/48 hour jams… I prefer either at least a week or 2.

    Next time maybe 🙂

I like Game Jams and would welcome one for Monkey2, but I can’t do 24/48 hour type jams …

I was actually gonna wait until MX2 matures a tad bit more before starting up another game jam though. Kinda like the one we did last year.

Rethinking this maybe a Monkey2 Awareness Weekend might be the thing.

The more code I write in monkey2 the more I want to sing it’s praises.

The one thing I noticed about the global game jams is they are a time when people are open to learning new tools, up-skilling etc.

The problem with these jams is that once you feel serious about it, it’s often an exhausting experience. 48 hours in a month sounds more relaxed but it’s a different feeling. I prefer getting into the tunnel when i feel the need to and also have a little bit of time.

Secondly if you’re new to a tool, or want to introduce people to a new one, you want great docs/online resources next to you as otherwise you’ll spend most of your time trying to figure out how to do something instead of doing it.

Apart from such things it can be fun.
