Still a work in progress, but nearing completion.
It is a completely modelled system with all the audio system features of the original plus a few more. using a custom sound system to provide wavetables, waveform editing and sequencing. It even load the original files!

It’s been on the go for a few months, but faithfully replicates the famous system:
This includes directly loading most sample formats from heaps of sources (emu, yamaha, korg, wav, aif and more)
waveform drawing, manipulation, etc and also direct control over parameters as playing and recording.
I don’t really remember much about 1982 (four years old), but I guess it was great.
Really cool!
Had never heard of the FairLight, watched a couple videos about it. Used in lots of nostalgic 80’s songs!
