While working on Qasardio, I thought about adding the ability to create sounds from nothing.

In essence a ‘new’ sound can be constructed from up to 3 user waveforms (start, end and middle, with the middle being movable)

The resulting sound will can be made long or short and it will automatically be smoothed to make it sound ‘nice’ across time.

There will be a fx section which will allow other stuff to be added, so that beeps, boings, blips, water wind, etc will be simple to do. just a few clicks.

The resulting sound can then be treated like any loaded sound and further edited if wanted.

Here’s the base UI for making a sound. You can see the 3 waveforms at the top and the created sound on the bottom (currently not being smoothed)

    Almost finished now:

The Create screen now has drawable waveforms, plus drawable volume and pitch envelopes. repeats, Loops and All instant.

    Just fiddle and play…

Did I forget it’s hugely visual as well. 😉

Hi Mark. There will be a new download soon with all the new stuff. I’m just debugging a few bits.

OK Version 1.06 is now ready for download:

I’ve added some quick presets to the fx panel so you can reset or make quick blips, pings, etc

I’d imagine that you could calculate the waveform magnitudes and make an animation from the sounds/music.
Almost like the ol’ WinXP Media Player. Aha. Fantastic work!
