I just have to say that I really miss the folder view / “Open files” panel you had in the previous version. Tabs are so messy now day with so many files in a project. that workflow you had is so much better.
I think the better solution is merging both… in other words, go back to what you had but allow the user to pin the open file which would then give it, it’s own tab….. basically, just double click the file name in the tab title and also allow you to double click the file in the “open files” panel to do the same.
then, for the people who just like tabs, have a ui option that any open file automatically pins the file. also have a ui option to hide the open files panel.
another little thing… in the first version the scroll bar background was the same as the editor background. I think that too was a better look then the change.
