Any chance you can post or send me the model (I promise to be discrete)?

    Weird, will look into it.

After the first couple of  builds, compile times are OK here but then I’m used to c++. Linking is the slowest step and MSVC speeds that up a lot for me.

With ted2go (after a couple of builds) and after changing a single file, parsing, semanting, translating, compiling are 3-ish seconds, linking is 15-ish. Changing more files increases compile times. Making different changes also affects compile times.

With MSVC, link time goes down to just a few seconds, so build time goes from 18-ish seconds to 5 ish seconds.

Also possibly worth noting, if you’re using the ‘mega file’ approach of sticking all your code in one file, then yes, compile times will hurt!

Is there anything else I can do to improve compile times?

    Nope.

The ‘donut’ demo allows you to toggle visbility – but it’s not working! Fixed now…

Please ignore the Scene singleton system for now, as I haven’t decided yet how all that will work. I would certainly like to have multiple scenes though.

Weirdly, I have never had the link error. MSVC was intended to be used with msvc 2015 express not community 2017, so I thought it might be that, but I just tried changing the msvc paths to Hezkore’s (already had community 2017 installed), rebuilt all modules, and still no problem, can build anything including ted2go just fine.

Will add the libadvapi import to SDL2 though for the next release.

What do you mean by ‘real’ 3d maze?

A maze that goes from A to B where A and B are 3d points and corridors can go left/right/up/down!

The Q and E buttons make the screen turn like crazy. Something wrong there on my system.

You’r probably still using radians version of mojo3d – angular units will change to degrees in next release (tomorrow probably).

Nice demo though, although I’m a teeny bit disappointed it’s not a ‘real’ 3d maze!

Yeah I need to work out what’s up with cleantalk, the antispam provider.

Hmm, another interesting windows 7 feature!

Windows 10 is definitely the recommended  dev platform for monkey2…

EDIT: by the way, whenever I move the window it leaves a white trail. Is there a way to avoid this?

What platform/os etc are you using?

Does it happen with all mx2 apps?

IAP is mostly done! Outta pocket 100USD already courtesy of apple inc. but hey, I’ll make that back, right?!?

Needs a bit more testing and I need to add something like AppState before it’s really usable, but it should be out within a few weeks (after 1.1.06 is out anyway).

For pure desktop there are virtually thousands (better) solutions out there. No offense.

Offense taken! What a crappy thing to say!

I’d be OK with dat but with padding 0’s so it’s string sortable, eg: 17.08.01

The “3D Builder” that comes with Windows 10 loads .ply and .obj and displays them really nice.

Unfortunately, ‘3d builder’ is unlikely to be open source software that we can add to monkey2!

Not sure why you’re having so many problems with the viewer – have you looked at import options? There’s back face culling etc there (off by default) and these are all options that mojo3d could realistically expose. How do the problem files like in mojo3d?

It’s also playing animations here OK, but of course only what assimp can load, eg: turtle.b3d.
