I continued porting the Duel demo to Pyro today 2. Lighting is not in yet so it looks weird.

    Pyro 1

Pyro 2 ( without lighting but will be added )

I made some changes to the ( pixel perfect ) collision layer module today. With Ignition X and Pyro you needed a little editor to create image pixel masks. The editor is able to create a mask automatically but Pyro 2 can now do this without using an editor. It uses the alpha channel to create the pixel mask. The collision layer can also adjust its size automatically now ( before you had to set the size your self ).

These demos use the pixel perfect collision module:

    Your welcome!

Are we able to contribute to it at all? Dual licensed or has one of those code giveaway agreements or such?

I have not decided yet. I think it’s not a bad idea. I may make the framework module open source and throw it on Git.

I just uploaded a new Pyro 2 preview due to some Monkey 2 changes…

Thanks! The base for the editor is MX2

Also, from now on ‘Pyro for Monkey2’ will have a ‘new’ name simply Pyro 2

I think this makes more sense…

It’s now possible to open multiple projects and copy sprite maps between them! Tiles will be a bit harder.

Oh, and I added a context menu! But it doesn’t do much yet except look pretty…

That would look great with some bumpmapping I think, not that it doesn’t look great already!

It probably would. I will ask Peter if we can pimp it up a bit… I am porting the Duel demo from Pyro  MX1 right now this will be using your new lightning system 🙂

Anyway, I recompiled the other demos with the latest version of Monkey2 as well so please be my guest and test them. Hopefully like the Spiral demo they run without problems now…

Yes, it’s the Pyro GUI. Mojox was not available at the time and also nothing wrong with alternatives 🙂

Maybe this solves previous problems… Please, let me know!

I’d be happy to test spiral again, if you would like to recomplie it with MX 1.07

Yeah, I will do some recompiles and let you know when I have done it. Thank you!

What I’ve seen of pyro ‘looks’ very nice, but… I wouldn’t use anything like that without a great editor to do all the front end stuff

Editor is beeing worked on! Pyro does support Tiled btw what was already a big help to me making stuff.

The best solution would be to have it completely seamlessly integrated into the monkey2 editor

Eventually this is the plan or maybe even my own IDE with tools. As long as people keep buying Pyro I have an excuse to work on this stuff.

I am curious, do you think M2 can replace Max for you?
