We’re creating a Monkey2 lib for motion tweening as we speak it like, and would gladly share it when it is finished
Can we have a shader section here to discuss shaders?
Half the game will be written as a shader soon because everytime shader is the answer
Okay is a shader the better option in Monkey2?
We are a small group of peple that makes 2d indie games on our sparetime and we got stuck on how to make the main character (and also the actual game ui itself actually) to “eat” through the “fog” around them.This is an important part of the game play itself and we need to be able to diminish the fog efficiently around enemies.
A simple subtractive blend mode would suffice but here was only multiplicative and additive modes.
Okay how do you tell monkey2 what color its premultipied with?
Thanks, all the advices seemed good so I ended up with creating a mechanical linear movement programatically which is then run through a formula which makes it into a more natural movement. Went abit crazy with trigonometry for the moment so I need to think abit more before I can show anything but it’s getting there, many thanks.
Also I downloaded and started to teach myself Spine, it looks really good!
Let’s see I’m trying to do A slamming effect of two buttons rotating together, like so;

Solved it for mouse
Monkey123' inverse transform (the - makes it inverse)Local localCoords:= -canvas.Matrix * Mouse.LocationNice !!
oh gotcha I thought was some clever mechanism to chain parameter/icon input to the window drag and drop input.
for macos you need to edit info.plist to allow dragging to an icon on the desktop or onto the dock
info.plist needs the added line:
Add/Modify public.data mime type
I can be misstaken as this is all new to me, but am exploring it now. Is this why you can’t drag files onto Monkey2 in the macos dock (or desk) maybe.
I get the error “identifier “MainWindow” Not found?
it works in macos the same
, also with folders and multiple files is confirmed.
How about dropping files onto the actual app icon instead of the app window?
In windows this would mean reading the parameters of the exe file right? What about macOS?
Does drag and drop work for both windows and icons? Please create a drag and drop banana how to use it in new releases it could be emmensly useful to have sometimes
I don’t understand permission requester yet I have to check into that ! I read through the thread but the commands they use there seem to no longer work? Was that only a developing branch expriment that never made it into the final version?
Thanks. Will check into this as soon as I can. Great stuff, I sent you 2o pounds via paypal hope you find that’s fair also I will also support more regularly when can afford as you do amazing work for the Monkey2 community.
