To be honest, we have no idea how many people that are, or if it’s just a handful of people.
Count me in on that one. I’ve tried to explain what I use to other devs, got a lot of WOW when I showed them how quick I could achieve something with a few lines of code and then they asked for the name and started laughing.
It’s sad but yeah, the name DOES matter.
The way I see it (now) is that Mark simply does not want to have many people using this language at this(!) point.
Oh and that was quite an old thread, Crypt of the Necrodancer revive alike? Will be closed soon probably.

But all in all: Did I get this right: When I’m doing a game with Monkey 2 I can upload it to Steam (of course with that $100 fee) without binding any Steam SDK stuff when I don’t want to use achievements and so on?

Mark: AGK is basically BlitzBasic 2.0 cross platform. Works very well. Too sad you gave up on this ages ago. You would not need that clumsy Patreon stuff now.
Hezkore: The AGK devs are very responsive.
