@danilo Line 6 #import “assets/”
I’ve found that it is best to reference each asset individually and not import using a wildcard.
Although it work. I found that on windows it would copy assets into the assets folder and also the contents folder. osx worked fine
When referencing individual files, the asset all appeared correctly in the assets folder on compile
All looking very good
Here’s some thoughts about the icons bar:
– the new build dropdown would really have a down arrow next to it to show it is a dropdown. otherwise it just looks like some weird options button
– running from left to right you have ‘new page/document’ – looks ok
– next up is ‘open’ and ‘open something’. the consistency here is not great. first there are two different types of folder in two different opening styles (the first opens left, the second opens right). Also they are completely different folder. one is purple and sorta looks like a folder, the other is grey blue and does not really resemble a folder. here you should go for something consistent. a folder should be instantly recognisable as a folder. and every time it is used it should look the same as other uses of the folder. other wise you might as well just use any image. lets say a sandwich?
– moving on we now have save as. 2 disks is usually save as. one disk is save. is it save as or save?
– next are the two arrows. are they related? why are they different colors? usually those sort of arrows mean undo and redo – is that what they are?
– next up is the page ‘thing’. what is it? a page with a tick and a red mark and a sort of rip. I give up. what is it?
You see where I am coming from. consistency
I would vote for not changing things or use the blitzmax .. to split lines
you want to future proof things then go for 3.
the only way you get people to upgrade is to show them what they are missing.
@Mark (Slightly off rant) I know you were looking for help with 3d models. I can provide low and ultra low poly models with color, uv, etc to your requirements (I’ve got a low post modeller here and can quickly write any type of exporter).
Let me know if you need anything?
Here’s a link to the modeller so you can get a flavour of what can be done…

@nerobot Btilliant. I’ll go and look at the source now
OSX I can do already – got an app that is very user friendly, but there seems to be nothing similar on windows?
yep. it’s sorta similar to how Apple did it with their access to shaders as well.
I suppose it would be possible to rewrite the graphics part off mojo2 to support this way of doing things in that:
you have a 2d shader variable that is not set. when it is set – use that shader for any drawing, etc.
Looking into the canvas.graphics part it would be very simple to implement, but would need some recoding of all the base graphics stuff which I don’t think Mark would really like anyone to touch – unless you were happy doing it that way?
@peterigz Very interesting way of accessing shaders. I’ve now got it added to my code and it works flawlessly
You can see it working in the background in the screenshot

It’s sorta like (sticks fingers in ears) “LALALALALA” Don’t wanna listen. Someone said something – don’t know, can’t remember what, but let’s get together and stamp out this behaviour – especially if we can hide behind some other perceived threat.
What behaviour? Who, what was said.
You obviously have an extreme personal attack going on with the blitz crowd – and (I would suspect) me in person?
calling for the complete shut-down of something because ‘you’ don’t like what(ever) was said – we don’t know what or by whom. Won’t make people suddenly jump to the absolute perfect, there are no errors, there are no failures, there is only happy thought here, it will make the tea for you, shiny and new Monkey2.
Monkey2 is great for what it is. I would say it is very stable. but it is far from finished and definitely far from perfect. If I shouted that it was and everyone should join the monkey2 coach, there would be some very unhappy people.
@Richard – stop banging on about your own personal beliefs!
Well it is all based on sdl2 so the best place would be to look there.
My initial finding is:

The sky is not falling and the response is well conceived.
Except that Simon has carefully edited out his previous comments.
@Richard Who has said what to you? Or are you now taking it on yourself to be judge and juror on other peoples (they didn’t ask for it) behalf?
Why not actually state what has got you particularly riled up?
@shinkiro how are you doing the shaders with a monkey2 app?
January 20, 2017 at 7:31 am in reply to: Maybe we should give up on the BlitzMax crowd and close the forum. #6655DaY is quite correct. Simon had edited out those comments referring to shutting down the forum.
If i remember right there was something about “getting rid of barnacles”
And @Richard, there was no personal attack on you. even if you took it as such, but come on?
Whatever has got you riled up over on the Blitz forum, that is no reason to ‘shut it down’ because you don’t like it!
One could take your sentiments as being incredibly passive aggressive.
The above post #6654 is now looking great (for you) because the referring post was changed to remove those sentiments.
It would be better to close the thread and all those concerned calm down a bit and not change things to alter previous comments. maybe I should go and edit my post to ‘think happy thoughts’?
I will need to download the latest version and do some testing. hopefully it will be compatible with v109
