Thanks Mark. So is the handle_to_object functions currently in mojo3d only? How do I utilise that to make it work?

If you scale down you can just go with the monkey and circle on it’s own, depends on the space you have to fit it in. Can’t say I’m that keen on the 2 tails, just looks a bit odd to me, I can’t tell if it’s one monkey with 2 tails or one in front of another.

Scaled down minus the powered by, looks ok to me, Adam deserves the credit though I was just playing with it 🙂

Nice Adam, I was wondering how it looked with a handwritten font for the 2:

I should update the readme and mention about installing the requisite modules. I still plan to do you tube vids of that tutorial I’m just finishing a lot of daytime work at the moment.

Hmm, it is but it was for patreons only at this point, at least I thought it was, so not sure if that link is supposed to be on bb.com. A link on this site like: “Become a patreon and get access to mojo3d alpha version today!” might be an idea.

I’m looking forward to TimelineFX 3D which I can start on in a couple of months 🙂

The site icon, just goto Appearance > Customize and goto the the site identity section, you can set the icon there and it will do it for you.

I think you’ll find that there’s a lot less different then you might think. It’s a bit more strict in its syntax but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I would suggest to download it and take a look at some of the examples to start with.

As far as I know Mark is using Bullet physics, which I’m fairly certain you will be able to use to detect collisions without the physics. You’ve also got chipmunk which can do what you want as well (in 2d). I was doing a tutorial for chipmunk until work took over. It’s heavily commented code so you might find it useful.

The 3d module got under way largely because of a big patreon contribution towards that goal. It probably makes the most sense as it will generate a fair amount of interest once there’re demos out. The attention can then go back onto docs and the language, and monetising modules I’d imagine. A little more community growth with more contributors and it’ll slowly happen.

I can understand the thoughts behind merging the communities but that doesn’t necessarily mean more people using m2 because you can’t really force it on anyone.

Well i’m optimistic about monkey2 🙂 I’ll be writing TimelineFX 3D with it, go Mark!

Regarding the name, ever since I read Influence by Robert Cialdini (hint everyone should read this book!), I’ve been fascinated with cognitive science. Did you know that when you do someone a favour, they feel overwhelmingly obliged to return the favour. It triggers an instinctive reciprocation.

Whats that got to do with the name? Well, Marks attachment and unwillingness to let it go it is well known, and lot’s of people are every unattached to it. It’s become this big “issue”. So if Mark were to say: “hey personally I really like the name but as it doesn’t seem too popular I’d like to consider other ideas for the benefit of the community”? Everyone would want to reciprocate with ideas and support. I do think that the name is a beast that needs to be slane, a community re-branding project would be quite galvanising.
