Happy new year!
2017 will probably exciting for me. After creating 8 games with Monkey 1 and one with Unity I want to use MX2 for my next game. My focus is still on mobiles, so Android and iOS I’m fine with! December was the first month where I earned more from my apps than I got payed in my day job. If it stays that way I can focus even more on that and make it full time.
Personally I do not need 3d stuff atm. What I would need are things that are needed for mobiles, like InApp-purchases, Admob integration and stuff like Google Play Services and Game Center integration (iOS). I’m happy to pay for that!
Cheers!
So any news on this one?
Wohoo, that’s awesome! Thanks!
Thanks! Would be awesome. mx2cc won’t have problems with that for sure.
Hey there,
call me a stranger but is there a possibility to add “use spaces instead of tabs” to the editor? In our company we have coding guidelines which include to NEVER use tabs because it looks horrible as soon as you mix both tabs and spaces, which is the reason I want to use spaces instead of tabs.
Cheers!
Very cool! I like that water. It looks more like gel though because it seems to be a bit viscous. But a good start!
It should flood caves as well when pressure raises, you see that at the end of the video. So it should flow “upwards” then within cavities.
Good job! Is there a way to enhance and/or change the syntax coloring of keywords, locals etc.?
Just saw that my last pledges did not went through due to credit card issues. Sorry Mark. This has been fixed now, count me back in!
Right, so here we go, my 8 games, all made with Monkey 1:
Pacific Battles (turn based strategy like chess):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.codeknitters.pacificbattleslite
https://itunes.apple.com/de/app/pacific-battles-lite/id886552148?mt=8Tic Tac Toe Wargames (based on that movie, yes!):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.codeknitters.tictactoelite
https://itunes.apple.com/de/app/tic-tac-toe-wargames-lite/id513217160?mt=8Sea Battle (that good old pen&paper game but on hex fields):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.codeknitters.sbattlelite
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/sea-battle-free/id509150187?mt=8Red Baron Chicken (basically a flappy birds clone):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.codeknitters.redflyingchickenPaint&Conquer (my very first app!):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cobblecrowd.paintconquer
https://itunes.apple.com/de/app/paint-conquer/id803939005?mt=8Toddler Fun Puzzle (a kids puzzle game):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cobblecrowd.toddlerpuzzle
https://itunes.apple.com/de/app/puzzles-fur-kleinkinder/id863057995?mt=8Shapemaster (eyeballing game, see how accurate you are):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.krautapps.shapemaster
https://itunes.apple.com/de/app/shape-master-eyeballing/id1023698847?mt=8Mau Mau (a popular card game in Germany):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.codeknitters.mau
https://itunes.apple.com/de/app/mau-mau-kartenspiel/id649408128?mt=8Many of them get just bad ratings, especially on Android, but that’s probably “normal” because they’re mainly lite versions and the stupid majority seem to favor f2p ripoffs much more than one time payed apps.
My most successful game was Sea Battle aka Schiffe versenken which made over $10k alone, but that was back in 2012/13 where things were much easier. Mau Mau is number 2 with about half of it, so $5k most of it due to ad revenue (simple admob banner, no full screen ads).
Is NAT hole punching already possible?
Thanks Mark, so regarding this Java stuff (later!): When I have a wrapper for a 3rd party solution which only works with the SDK it could be possible to continue to use that with Monkey 2?
Well ya, from his blog (17th of October):
I’ve used it to convert the chipmunk 2d physics lib API (now a new module), SQLite (also a new module) and a few others.
I know and I’m very excited. Just noticed that something went wrong with my last Patreon payments, ugh. Sorry will fix that!
Android/iOS and HTML5 are my most important targets, but that’s just for me.
I really like the progress Monkey 2 took so far!
Seriously, when will emscripten, Android and iOS be available? I currently do a Monkey 1 project and plan to switch to Monkey 2 asap.
