Ah thanks Jesse didn’t know it was that easy to do
Ah loved these engine back in the day and would love to see one made in MX2
I would love a simple configuration file option where you could just tick “FROMUSB” where when ticked would remove the previous files loaded and set mingw to the default folder in monkey2.
is there a way to stop the IDE from chucking up the requester for file not found when running Monkey2 from a USB key.
Currently running it from the drive where the drive letter changes chucks up errors everywhere when compiling etc. This happens in the standard IDE too
Looks good any plans for a Linux version
that looks like the driver is set to best performance or the anti aliasing is to high.
I used:
sudo apt-get install g++ xorg-dev qtcreator libopenal-dev libgl1-mesa-dev libsdl2-dev
It compiled and works perfectly now
Credit for this goes to Richard Betson as it was his monkey-x.com post that helped immensely.
I am going to convert my networking library over as it’s a very useful system for me and it will be a good learning curve
I think most of the old Blitzer’s have an account here, yeah I have sometimes been critical of BRL and some of the business model however. I have an account here and I’m looking at MX2 to see what and where the tool can be used for any future projects.
I have tools and languages that I haven’t used in ages but they are still there.
crowd funding works in some cases but charging for modules also works maybe having “pledge” levels to access modules or a one off fee if you want to pay that.
To be honest I would have charged for it working on a 3d engine with shadows, shades, physics etc is a huge undertaking.
I would have asked for $50-$100 for it to be honest.
@Mark I know you said it would be free but it’s a module which is basically an extra on top like in app purchasing etc
brilliant stuff
Edit: I’m going to have a go at porting my networking library across once this is done it will form the backbone of Star Rogue. As for the game I want it to allow as many players as possible whilst maintaining a steady frame rate
Ready and waiting…
